The Florida Panthers had the best record during the regular season in the NHL and looked completely unbeatable at times.
However, the freight train that’s known as the Tampa Bay Lightning just eliminated them from the playoffs in the second round.
It’s worth noting that Tampa has won back-to-back to Stanley Cups and now might be looking at a third straight title. However, the Panthers didn’t even show up in this series!
The Bolts finished them off in a four-game sweep, winning Monday night’s game 2-0 on their home ice.
How does a team with this much firepower have a meltdown like this? For starters, going to strip clubs the night before an elimination game might not be the best idea.
A sports radio station in Florida is reporting the team was spotted at a Tampa Bay strip club until 3 a.m. the night before their game four matchup with the Lightning.
Here’s my question: Did they know they were toast at that point? Being down 3-0 in a playoff series is a steep hill to climb if you want to give yourself a chance for a comeback.
Maybe they were looking for a little extra motivation.
