This week marks the 45th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978 in West Michigan.
WOOD TV meteorologist Bill Steffen broke down the numbers in terms of snowfall from that storm and they are staggering.
Muskegon county alone saw over 50″ of snowfall over a period of four days.
Thousands of National Guard members came in to help remove snow and Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo was even opened as a shelter for residents.
