A Michigan high school assistant coach was fired after allegedly punching a parent at a football game. The incident occurred during a game between Lake Shore High School and Warren Woods Tower.
The coach, identified as Rob McFarlin, was involved in a physical altercation with the parent on the sidelines. School officials stated that the coach’s actions were not in response to a safety concern but rather out of frustration towards the parent.
The Warren Police Department is investigating the incident, and the parent has been banned from school grounds. McFarlin claimed self-defense in a social media statement.
