Kelly Hansen, the lead vocalist of Foreigner, spoke with the 96.1 KLPX radio station about the band’s recent announcement of their farewell tour. On July 6, the journey is scheduled to begin in Atlanta’s Ameris Bank Amphitheatre.

Hansen said the reasoning behind hanging things up is that it was important for him not to do just any type of song. He wanted to continue to “deliver them strong and vibrant and then quit while we’re ahead like that.”

Hansen added that he looks forward to spending more time with his wife and family and making plans for the future.
