Man’s shaft turned to bone in incredibly rare disease

A man in his 60s was diagnosed with the rare condition of penile ossification, where calcium builds up in the tissue, turning his penis into bone-like material.

Doctors discovered the condition after he mentioned penile pain, but he declined further treatment.

While the exact cause is unclear, it may be linked to Peyronie’s disease, kidney issues, or trauma, and treatments like shockwave therapy or medications are available to address the condition.
